Each and every day was a gift. There were days where she felt like she wasn't even seen. She was trying to make a change in her life, one that would be an improvement that way she didn't feel like the failure she knew she had once been. It felt like things were echoing sentiments of the past. She was so tired of feeling like she was out of place. This wasn't her world anymore. What place did she have? Where was she supposed to go? What was she supposed to do? To let go and move on? That was all she wanted to do. But even in the Underworld her unfinished business had never been completely done. It was like there was darkness all around. She had left her little room in the bed and breakfast, where she had been staying since she had come to terms with Rumple...her ex-husband, and the father of their only son.
She was reminded of when she was a small child. Of the way things were. And what had been left behind. She'd grown up in a small village. Small and quintessential, sort of like this town she now found herself in. It wasn't brilliant, but alas comfortable nevertheless. The woods weren't her favorite place to be but they had a measure of comfort to them. Comfort she needed. The sea was her true calling, but there were too many painful memories attached to it. Even if it was the place she belonged. But she couldn't go back to that life even if she wanted to. She tried not to think about it. Instead she focused on the here and now. The woman sighed as she moved through the woods. It was strange almost, to see how quiet things were.
Usually the woods...weren't so quiet, but filled with activity. Of course, having been a pirate before her death she was used to things being abnormal. Thieving was something she was also good at, even if she hadn't done that since her return to life. Because she was trying to turn over a new leaf. She hadn't been in the woods all that long, when she thought she heard something in front of her. She had managed to get close to whatever it was, when she tripped and bumped into someone.
She hadn't immediately recalled who was standing in front of her. After all the last thing she expected was to run into someone she knew. Or had known. "Excuse me. Sorry about that." It was the only words she was able to get out as she couldn't help but look at him. He seemed familiar. Like maybe she had known him in the Underworld? Was that a possibility? She had after all been down there for two centuries.
